True Direction to Keane Stud in New York
Thoroughbred times- 10/12/2006

True Direction, a graded stakes winner by French Deputy, will stand in 2007
at Keane Stud near Amenia, N.Y., under the management of Greg Garofalo's
Topsmeade.

True Direction, who broke his maiden by a dozen lengths at Aqueduct, won
the Fall Highweight Handicap (gr. III) under 134 pounds and the Hirsch
Jacobs Stakes and placed in three stakes, including the Riva Ridge Breeders'
Cup Stakes (gr. II). At Belmont Park, he won in a scorching 1:07.86 for six
furlongs after setting a :43.53 half-mile fraction.

A 7-year-old, True Direction won eight of 19 races and earned $348,570. He
is out of the Tank's Prospect mare Ms Paragon, who is a half-sister to stakes
winner Encolure. His second dam, graded stakes winner Jabot, is a half-sister
to prominent sire Big Spruce.

"I am very excited about bringing True Direction to New York," Garofalo said.
"True Direction has everything to make a successful sire. He consistently
showed tremendous speed, including running 1:07 4/5 at Belmont Park, he
could carry weight, winning with 134 pounds in the Fall Highweight, he has
size, standing at 16.2, he has excellent conformation, and he descends from
a sires family. The ownership and I will be strongly supporting True Direction."

True Direction will stand for the same $3,000 fee that he stood for at
Lou-Roe Farm near Morriston, Fla.

NY-bred Eishin Bukan wins allowance in Japan by 2-1/2 -- earnings
$324,479 Toyomitsu Hirai's New York-bred EISHIN BUKAN pushed
his earnings over $300K (U.S. equivalent) with his second 2005 win on
Sunday, July 17 at Japan's Hakodate racecourse, capturing a
1700-meter (about a mile and a sixteenth) allowance on dirt by 2-1/2
lengths as the 1.80-to-1 favorite among 11 starters. Ridden by jockey
Norihiro Yokoyama, the four-year-old stalked the 6.90-to-1 third choice,
pacesetter T M Deus, from second place through the fourth and final
call before taking over and drawing clear. The victory increased
Eishin Bukan's earnings to the U.S. equivalent of about $324,480 and
improved his record to 3 - 3 - 3 in 18 starts. Trained by Takashi Kubota,
the chestnut colt has won on both dirt and turf in Japan. He was
bred by attorney
Gregory Garofalo of Saratoga Springs and was sold
as a weanling for $82,000 at Keeneland's 2001 November sale. Eishin
Bukan is by Grade 2-winning NYRA miler French Deputy, who now
stands in Australia, and is the second starter and second winner
produced from turf graded-placed winner Siyah Nara ($221,131),
by Siyah Kalem (by Mr. Prospector). Breeder Garofalo as agent had
purchased Siyah Nara for $70,000 at Keeneland's 2000 November sale
when she was carrying Eishin Bukan.
